Choosing the appropriate product is very important for the comfort and safety of the patient and depends primarily on the degree of incontinence, the frequency of episodes of urine loss as well as the patient's mobility.
OBSERVATION!
It happens very often that people with incontinence problems do not choose the right product. Most frequently, active people with average incontinence choose diapers with a closed system, considering that they provide better protection. It is wrong because there are products created specifically for each degree of incontinence, with special structures, which ensure the necessary protection. For active people, we recommend the absorbent elastic panties SENI ACTIVE.
A suitable product provides you with increased protection and comfort, but also helps you avoid unnecessary expenses.
How do you determine the degree of incontinence?
It is recommended to use a urination diary, very useful in determining the degree of incontinence.
Before you start the calculation, you should consider the following factors:
- the bladder can store up to 500 ml of urine
- the urgent need to urinate usually occurs when the bladder is 1/3 full
- a person normally passes around 200 ml of urine during a visit to the toilet
- you need to know the volume of liquid consumed
- we normally eliminate 80% of the volume of liquids consumed (water, juice, tea, soup, etc.)
- the degree of mobility and how many times the user reaches the toilet
- Below is an example of how to choose the right product based on a 24-hour urination diary (see urination diary here).
Calculation: Woman, limited mobility, needs help to use the toilet.
- the volume of liquids consumed - 1450 ml
- the volume of liquid eliminated (usually 80% of that consumed) - 80% x 1450 ml = 1160 ml
- frequency of urination - 3 x 200 ml = 600 ml
- urinary incontinence - 1160 ml – 600 ml (WC) = 560 ml
- average at 4 hours - 560 ml / 24h = 93 ml at 4 hours
Recommended product:
93 ml / 4 hours falls into the "light incontinence" category, so the recommended product is from the Seni Lady range, urological absorbents for women. To help you choose the right product more easily, we have created a special questionnaire.
